Pump your own fuel in Dubai

Come July, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) will introduce self service at 10 of its fuel stations, as part of its focus to introduce global practices and promote overall operational efficiencies.

The self-serve facility will be operational from 12am to 6am, initially, to familiarise motorists with the concept.

ENOC had earlier revamped the night operating hours of select stations that are located in areas with relatively less vehicular traffic.

According to ENOC, the revised operating hours did not lead to any inconvenience for the public, which encouraged the firm to introduce self-service.

Speaking about the initiative, Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail, said: “Over the past months, we have been modernising and updating our systems to facilitate self-service at 10 service stations. These have been selected on the basis of the footfall and location to minimise inconvenience to motorists, and enable them to become more accustomed with the new system. We will also extend support to customers in the initial days to familiarise them with fuel dispensing.”

The ENOC sites that will offer self service at night are located in Al Aweer and Ittihad Road near Gargash Roundabout and the EPPCO sites are located opposite Dubai Airport Free Zone Metro Station, Al Ghusais; Al Wahida Road near Century Mall; Jumeirah Road opposite Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
