The 5.5-inch G3 comes with the latest version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat, Quad HD display a better battery performance and a new redesigned graphical user interface, that aims to simplify the process.

Samsung rolled out its Galaxy S5 in April with features such as heart rate monitor, finger print sensor and faster connectivity. Samsung said the Galaxy S5 sold a record 10 million units within the first 25 days.
On the other hand, HTC One M8 hit the stores by end-March, and the company announced that sales during the month of April were fastest since October 2011, increasing by 12.7 per cent.
Sony Xperia Z2, however, has been plagued by a series of delays. It only managed to bring down the device into the local market here in the UAE by second week of May, despite being the first to launch the product here.

Here’s a comparison of the key features of the latest Android smartphones:
Display
A 5.5-inch Quad HD display with 538ppi means that LG G3 has a higher resolution compared to the Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and Xperia Z2. HTC One M8 has a 5-inch screen with 1920 by 1080 resolution at 441ppi. Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inch screen with 432ppi and the Xperia Z2 at 424ppi.

Design and size
Design-wise, HTC One M8 and G3 have metallic finishes, but G3 is actually made of plastic and has thinner bezels all around the phone. Sony has a glossy metallic and glass body. Both the S5 and G3 have removable back covers for battery replacements.

Plastic bodies help keep the weight of the phone down, with Samsung Galaxy S5 weighing 145g and LG G3 weighing 149g. HTC One M8 and Sony Xperia Z2 are on the slightly higher side, weighing 160g and 163g, respectively.
Key specs
There is not much of a difference among the four models when it comes to power. All of them work on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. All four brands come with a basic 16GB storage end expandable to 128GB through an SD card. Only the 32GB model of the LG G3 has a 3GB DDR3 RAM. Others like the Galaxy S5 and the One M8 comes with a 2GB RAM. Sony however has a 3GB RAM.
Camera
Camera has become one of the key features of present day smartphones. In terms of Megapixels the Nokia Lumia 1020 continues to top the chart with its 41MP camera.
The G3 has a 13MP camera with optical image stabilisation and laser auto focus. The front camera is 2.1MP with gesture control where users have to clench their hand into a fist and the device automatically starts a three-second countdown.
Sony’s Z2 features a 20.7MP camera with 4K video recording capability. It also features noise cancelling technology.

The HTC One M8 shifted away from the megapixel race and instead introduced a 4Mp ultra pixel camera. The M8 also incorporated a Duo Camera. The phone also has a 5-MP wide-angle front facing camera for selfies.
The Galaxy S5 comes with a 16MP camera with HDR and Selective Focus, which allows users to focus on a specific area of an object while simultaneously blurring out the background.
Battery
Sony offers the longest standby times. The Z2 comes with a 3200mAh battery with 12-plus hours of active usage and about 21 days of average standby time.
LG has also improvised its power on the G3 offering a 3000mAh battery with an average talk time of 12 hours and a standby of 8 days or 195 hours.
Samsung on the other hand has a 2800mAh battery while HTC One M8 comes with a 2600mAh battery
