Freak accident…Man split into half on Dubai’s Emirates Road as family watched

In a freak yet tragic accident, a young man was split into half before his family on Friday morning.

The 30-year-old Egyptian pulled on the side on Emirates Road near the Dubai-Sharjah border to change a flat tyre.

A speeding Land Cruiser hit and ran over him, cutting his body into two halves, as his wife and daughter sat helplessly watching inside the vehicle.

According to police officials, he had parked the car on the left side under a bridge on Emirates Road. It is risky to get off on the left side of the road, he added.
