A Dubai-based Indian expatriate who returned home to celebrate Eid with his
family is cooling his heels behind bars following his road stunts in a 'Dubai
Police' vehicle.
Abdul Jabir, who painted his Honda car to look like a Dubai Police vehicle, complete with siren and logo that read Shurta Dubai, was speeding on roads attempting various stunts.
The 30-year-old reveller's reckless driving on roads in Kasargode - a city in the South Indian state of Kerala - put at risk the lives of other motorists and pedestrians, reported a local daily Kasargodu Vartha.
Though radio stations were quick to pick up Jabir's road antics and entertain listeners, a section of onlookers filed a complaint against him for causing public nuisance over the festive weekend.
The secret police of the state was pressed into action who quickly zeroed in on the Dubai-based motorist.
Jabir's vehicle was confiscated and he has been detained for violating Kerala Motor Vehicles Act and risking motorists' lives.
