UAE warns against travel to 3 more countries

UAE nationals have been warned against travelling to three more destinations outside the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region due to security concerns.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE issued a warning on Sunday advising citizens not to travel to Somalia, Afghanistan and South Sudan. The number of destinations included in the UAE’s no-travel list for 2014 has so far reached 11.

“We warn UAE nationals from travelling to Somalia, Afghanistan and South Sudan due to security situation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in its tweet on Sunday.

The security situation in Somalia has been considered unstable and unsafe for foreigners, with inter-clan and inter-factional clashes showing no signs of dissipating.
