Dubai Charity helps 15,000 families

The Dubai Charity Association has distributed Ramadan rations to 15,000 families in the UAE at a total cost of Dh2 million.

The gesture is part and parcel of the association’s Ramadan campaign to distribute food to underprivileged and needy families under the slogan Ramadan Al Khair. Ahmad Mesmar, General-Secretary of the Dubai Charity Association, said the association launched its campaign before the Holy Month of Ramadan to communicate with philanthropists and donors to provide their Zakat (Alms) to support needy families, and society’s charitable and humanitarian programmes inside the country and abroad.

He noted that the association will dispatch Zakat Al Fitr in cash for beneficiaries before Eid Al Fitr, which includes clothing.

He also pointed out that the Ramadan campaign will be accompanied by a media and advertising coverage and campaign for both nationals and residents, including the radio program entitled, “The Spirit of meanings” by Dr Shaikh Saleh Maghamsi where donations will be received via SMS and marketing projects through social media channels.
