New X-ray screening system at Dubai Customs

Dubai Customs on Saturday unveiled its latest world-class integrated system for containers and trucks X-ray screening at Jebel Ali port.
The cutting-edge procedures, systems and tools in place by Dubai Customs were introduced to a high-profile delegation from the Indian Consulate in Dubai headed by Dr Teju Thomas, Honourary Consul at the Indian Consulate.
A senior official said the system is the first innovative and comprehensive solution in the world that combines and integrates multiple high-tech inspection tools and technologies.
Abdullah Al Khaja, acting executive director of the Client and Cargo Division at Dubai Customs, said the device can screen the contents of 150 trucks per hour moving at eight to 15km per hour, or one truck every 24 seconds.
“The system is linked to the risk engine to target any suspected or risky consignmentsm”
