Man shoots wife over domestic dispute

A 55-year-old Emirati man shot his 47-year-old wife following a domestic dispute on Tuesday night, Ras Al Khaimah Police said on Wednesday.

The couple’s son tried to intervene and attempted to snatch the gun from his father. In the scuffle the father also shot himself. The couple are recovering in Saqr Hospital.

Colonel Abdullah Ali Al Munkis, Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the husband fired two shots at his wife and then shot himself accidentally when his son attempted to snatch the gun from him.

Police moved to the scene when they received a call on Tuesday at 10.45pm saying that a man had shot his wife after losing his temper.
