Dubai Government employees to get wage hike

A total of 32 per cent of Dubai Government Department employees will get a 30 to 100 per cent raise.

The raise, which will come into effect with December salaries, was implemented by a specialised Dubai Government team responsible for carrying out Resolution No 15 of 2013, issued by the emirate’s Executive Council, which stipulates providing a ‘nature of work’ allowance to selected 21 professions within 32 government departments.

The increment will be paid retroactively as of June 2013 and will be adjusted in the December 2013 salary. The rate of the wage hike was determined according to multiple factors, such as the competitiveness of the vocation in the job market.

The implementation of the resolution is expected to achieve more organisational and operational stability for government department, enhancing the capabilities of these departments to attract and retain qualified cadres.
