Sharjah residents need ID Cards to renew tenancy contracts

residents will require ID Cards to renew their tenancy contracts. This was conveyed by a Sharjah Municipality official while announcing the various services to be launched by the body to serve the community better, reported Al Khaleej.
Khalid Al Shamsi, Director, Department of tenancy regulation, Sharjah Municipality, said residents will be required to use only the ID Cards instead of several documents to avail of the services.

One among them is the renewal of tenancy contracts. Residents will have to provide only their ID Cards to renew tenancy contracts.

He added the decision was taken after consultations with the Emirates Identity Authority (Eida). Electronic devices have been installed to read data electronically,as this step is still in experimentation stage, Al Shamsi said.

Similarly, a new service called ‘Urgent’ to help businessmen complete their transactions quickly has been launched.

The municipality has also inaugurated a special counter to cater exclusively to people with special needs and citizens. There is also a special section for women in order to respect their privacy, he added
