Emirates ID Card in just 24 hours @ additional fee of Dh150

A new service to issue Emirates ID cards in 24 hours has been introduced by Emirates Identity Authority (Eida).

In a statement sent to 'Emirates24/7', Aisha Al Raesi, Manager of Central Operations Sector, Eida. said the “urgent” service has currently been introduced in four registration centres, which would be extended to other centres over the coming period.


The authority will be charging an additional fee of Dh150 over and above the regular fees. The registration and renewal fees for the UAE and GCC nationals is Dh100 for each five years, while expats have to pay Dh100 for each residency year, regardless of the remaining residency period. The services fee is Dh40 while typing centre fees is Dh30.


At present the service is available at Al Musaffah and Al Wehdah registration centres in Abu Dhabi, Al Barsha centre in Dubai and Al Sharjah Centre.


The service will be available for all age groups and even for first time registration, renewal of expired cards and issuing a replacement card. For availing the service, an applicant will have visit a typing centre/ registration centre without a prior appointment and present the specified documents.


The launch of the urgent service, Al Raesi disclosed, comes after the success of the pilot phase which began in December.
