Dubai: Police have arrested two men, in their mid-thirties, accused of trying to sell more than 1kg of heroin after smuggling it in their laptops.
An official at the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police said authorities arrested two suspects on September 20 in the Satwa area on charges of possessing drugs with the intent to sell them to an undercover officer.
“We set up a plan and carried out an ambush to arrest the two suspects, after a police informant notified us about their plan to distribute drugs in the area,” said the Dubai police official.
The two Asian suspects were identified as A.H.B, 39, and M.A.Kh, 36.
One of the suspects initially provided a sample of heroin to the undercover police officer, and then went back to the duo’s apartment in Bur Dubai, where they were staying near a government office.
Police then carried out surveillance and after obtaining permission raided the suspects’ home.
