LinkedIn has five million members in the MENA region, with a million of those in the UAE alone.
Tapping into this user base, LinkedIn has now opened its first regional office in Dubai’s Internet City, some nine years after its launch.
The professional networking site, which boasts 175 million members worldwide and two new members a second, joins internet giants Facebook, Google, YouTube and Yahoo! in setting up shop in the Middle East.
LinkedIn estimates that around 50 million people in the Middle East use social media - most of whom are under the age of 30 - and that users here are active in more than 2,000 LinkedIn groups.
