Parts of UAE to be hit by heavy rain and thunder

The UAE weather centre has warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms over the next few days, leading to hazardous driving conditions, daily newspaper The National reported on Tuesday.

Most of the extreme conditions are expected to be in the south of the country, following a sharp drop in temperatures over Liwa, in Abu Dhabi, from 42C to 24C, the report added.

There are also reports of high winds, leading to lower visibility and motorists in the other Emirates have been warned to expect mist and fog.
