An Egyptian husband has murdered his wife after she rejected his orders to cook him a meal during Ramadan fasting times, Egyptian website Al Youm Al Sabee reported.
Police investigations revealed that the dead woman’s husband had asked her to prepare him a meal few hours after dawn, during which Muslims should be fasting in Ramadan.
Neighbours testified that they overheard the wife accusing her husband of madness for not fasting and for asking her to cook for him at such time.
Her words provoked him and he took out a pistol and shot her in the head before fleeing the scene.
Muslims refrain from eating or drinking from dawn till dusk during the holy month of Ramadan.
