The police Wednesday arrested P. Jayarajan, Kannur district secretary of the
CPM in connection with the murder of Youth League activist Abdul
Shukkur.
Jayarajan a senior leader of the party has been charged with
conspiracy.
Abdul Shakker was murdered by alleged CPM activists on
February 20, 2012. Shukkur was attacked by an armed gang of CPM supporters for
his alleged involvement in the attack on the vehicle in which T.V. Rajesh and
other CPM leaders were travelling.
Shukkur was killed after his attackers
confirmed his identity through sending an MMS message.
