Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) will organise an Open Day on
Saturday, March 10, to fill both blue and white-collar vacancies.
An advertisement released by Dewa in the local media showed that it would
hire staff for a number of vacancies open to all nationalities.
The walk-in interviews will run only for three hours from 8am until 11am at
Al-Boom Tourist Village, Andhari Hall, near Al Garhoud Bridge.
According to the advertisement, the water and electricity authority will hire
technicians, oiler, mechanical engineers, foremen, assistant
electricians, AC
mechanics, supervisors and many other positions on Saturday.
Dewa, according to the advertisement, will hire staff to fill more than three
dozen vacancies.
In line with its strategy to deliver top quality services, Dewa has updated
the website for recruitment applications to enable applicants
to upload their
CVs.
A large number of interested job-seekers are expected to turn up on Saturday
to become part of the government organisation as witnessed
last month when
Emaar Properties subsidiary advertised an Open Day and more than 2,000
interested candidates turned up for the event.
Dewa is currently participating in Career Fair 2012, which is taking place at
Dubai International Convention Centre until March 7 to acquire different
national capabilities and talents and provide job opportunities and
training.
During the Fair, Dewa has been displaying its efforts on recruitment,
emiratisation and its ambitious plans to emiratise different jobs through its
continuous efforts to recruit UAE National graduates and technicians, especially
in different engineering fields.
As part of its ongoing efforts, Dewa is upgrading its 132kV power
transmission grid with the opening of a 132/11kV main substation with
a 150
MVA (Megavolt Per Ampere) capacity at the Factories Area in Industrial Area 4 in
February 2012.
Dewa last week announced launch of Dh250 million
substation in Industrial Area 4 as part of its effort to raise and upgrade the
power capacity in the emirate.
The substation cost Dh120 million and the lay of 132kv ground cables was
valued at Dh130m, securing the increasing demand for electricity.
