Dial-A-Battery service

Road assistance for motorists needing emergency car battery replacement is now a phone call away with the launch of Dial-A-Battery in the UAE.

The new service allows customers to dial a toll-free number — 800-24-7-365 — and request to have their car batteries replaced, consuming lesser time compared to hiring a towing service.

A Dial-A-Battery customer service assistant, who will immediately send the request to a rescue team, confirms the order through an SMS. Each dispatch vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and there are plans to include tracking software that will allow operators to pinpoint the caller’s exact location and delivery time in the future.

A warranty card and invoice will also be presented to the customer upon the completion of the battery replacement service.

“Dubai residents don’t have time or interest being subjected to ‘battery replacement trauma’ with all its related hassles and headaches. They only want to be rescued,” said Asad Badami, managing director of A-MAP, a leading UAE distributor of automotive parts, batteries, tyres and lubricants, and a supplier to Dial-A-Battery.

“Due to excessive heat in the UAE and across the Gulf, a vehicle’s battery life is significantly reduced, [therefore] creating a strong demand for immediate battery replacement in this region,” Badami added.

Dial-A-Battery is initially available in Dubai and will expand into a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week service in early 2012. It has plans to roll out through the entire UAE and wider Gulf region next year
