One lakh employment in kerala annually

Finance Minister K M Mani on announced that an Entrepreneurship Mission would be set up in November with an aim to provide employment to one lakh youths annually.

Mani said that training would be imparted to 50,000 youths who were selected by the local bodies.

The training session would start soon after the project is launched on November 1.

The Kerala Financial Corporation will provide Rs. 20 lakh as interest-free loan to each unit which joins the self-employment scheme, he said. 10,000 units would be established in the state

under the ambitious project.

The project also proposes an interest-free loan of Rs. 10 lakh to individuals who are attached to the project.

He said that he was confident that the mission would help eradicate unemployment among the youth in the state within five years. ‘’The programme is meant to resolve the issue of unemployment in the state. The state badly needs small-scale industrial units. Large-scale industrial units are unavoidable in the pursuit of development. But they cannot purge the menace of unemployment,’’
