According to latest news Idukki has been included in the zone III of earth quake prone areas.
That is Idukki is prone to earthquakes upto the magnitude 6.5.If an earthquake of such a magnitude occurs,mullaperiyar might not survive it.
Also if the rainfall in the region becomes so high,the same effect happens.
If Idukki dam couldn't couldn't contain this water the result will be a great disaster.
3-4 districts may wiped out completely and 4-5 million lives will perish.
Recently Tamil Nadu made another proposition to increase the height of the dam.
We need some strong actions to be taken.
In this context,let us show our support in this thread.A mass support is necessary to end the red-tapism in this issue...
