First Standalone Beach in Dubai
RIVA: Dubai’s First Standalone Beach Concept
RIVA, Dubai’s first standalone beach concept, has launched offering an innovative and unique new dimension to
Dubai’s beach scene by being the first independent destination to provide a chilled out, stylish and relaxing atmosphere in addition to giving guests à la carte facilities.
RIVA also has its own stretch of private beach featuring more than 200 luxury sun loungers - all available
on an à la carte basis for day hire with no access fee or membership required. Also included is a climate controlled pool, a fully licensed gazebo bar and al fresco restaurant where visitors will benefit from all day food and
beverage service.
Whissle, a leading boutique hospitality group created and managed by the founders of multi-award winning OKKU, the luxury Japanese restaurant and lounge, was selected by IFA Hotel Investments to operate and manage the property. “We believe RIVA will revolutionize Dubai’s beach scene by being the first fully standalone destination offering a truly bespoke policy – an approach which mirrors leading international destinations like the Italian Riviera and the Islands of Greece,” said Markus Thesleff, Co-Founder of Whissle.
Guests can come and enjoy the beach with friends and family without paying the usual access cost. Instead, visitors simply pay a small fee to hire a personal sun lounger for the day and to use all the facilities, including the beach, pool, steam rooms and the complimentary underground parking.
“The iconic Palm is the perfect place to escape in Dubai but has not yet been available to anyone but residents or hotel guests, which is why we have developed the RIVA concept to be as accessible as possible for those who want to come and relax, indulge and chill out – our mission is to make RIVA inclusive not exclusive. A place for Dubai residents to come and enjoy our beach,” added Thesleff.
RIVA, which is part of the RIVA Complex (previously known as Al Shalal Beach Club), is also home to several
outlets offering everything from beauty by Kalm and pampering by Dreamworks to The Palm’s favourite
florist Bliss. Also coming soon is an exciting home-style fresh and natural café concept called Sophie’s,
which is brand new to Dubai. It will be serving up freshly prepared healthy food with a big focus on organic and local produce as part of the new fresh food movement.
