4-year-old girl falls to death

The Arab parents of a 4-year-old girl, who plunged to death from the window of her 15th floor house in Al Qasimia area, will be held responsible for the death of their daughter if investigation proved irresponsible behaviour from them.

Officials at Al Gharb Police Station are currently investigating the accident that happened on Saturday. "We have questioned the parents to determine why they behaved so recklessly and irresponsibly. A police case has been opened against them," said an official.

According to police, the 4-year-old Arab girl was left unattended in her home at Al Qasimia area. The Operations Control Room at Sharjah Police received a call about the incident at 1.30am.

The police said they suspected that the child was sleeping alone at home and when she woke up, she walked towards the window and then fell down.
"Parents should act responsibly and have their children looked after at all times. They should also have bars put up around their apartment windows to prevent such accidents from occurring
