The Dubai City Tour

Beaches, artificial snow, and desert – you get a little bit of everything in Dubai.

Shaikh Zayed Road – Shaikh Zayed Road is where some of Dubai’s best buildings are located. The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, soars up into the sky here. It is 828 meters tall. While you are here, go visit the Gold and Diamond Park and Museum.

Desert Safari – You can choose a camel or four-wheeler to zip through the sand dunes. The Safari also treats you to a barabeque dinner in a traditional Bedouin camp. You can have dinner while a belly dancer shimmies to Arab music.

Jumeirah Beach – The beach is a perfect rest and recreation area. You can sunbathe, barbeque, or if you are a water baby, try snorkeling, jet skiing, and scuba diving.

Ski Dubai – This is a man made snow park with skiing, and snowboarding areas at The Mall of Emirates. It has many cafes and skiing merchandise. A cool getaway from the city’s heat!

Theme Parks – Dubai has two major theme parks for the child in you – Wild Wadi Water Theme Park and Wonderland Theme Park.

Dubai Museum – The Dubai Museum is set up in the imposing Al-Fahidi Fort. The collection includes archaeological items, musical instruments, and traditional weapons.

Heritage and Diving Village – The village tries to recreate traditional Arab and Bedouin culture. You can see first hand, a coffee house and souq, handicrafts, pearl diving, dhow building, and traditional music and dance.

Souqs – There are many souqs in Dubai. Check out the Deira Gold Souq, where you can buy a variety of gold and jewelry. It is said to be the biggest gold bazaar to be found anywhere in the world. The other souq worth a visit is the Deira Spice Souq.

Dubai Shopping Festival – The Dubai Shopping Festival attracts a large number of tourists every year between mid-January and mid-February. Carpet Oasis is one of the chief attractions because of the 10000 carpets they roll out for the buyers each year.

Palm Islands – This man-made archipelago is an ambitious project that blows away your mind. There are three islands – Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, and Palm Deira, each designed like a palm tree. A great place to visit for all the action is the Atlantis Resort.

The City of Gold’s glitter is hard to escape but you can take a bit of it back home. Dubai is as bling as it can get!
