Dubai is set to become the new home of world cricket with a range of next-generation cricket facilities nearing completion.

These facilities are coming up in Dubai Sports City (DSC), a campus being constructed in this West Asian metropolis, which will also have facilities for other sports.

'The Dubai Sports City cricket stadium, which is set to be ready by the end of the year, will be among the most advanced in the world, with next-generation facilities for players, officials, VIPs, spectators and the media,' DSC chief executive U. Balasubramaniam said here.

'Together with the ICC (International Cricket Council) Global Cricket Academy and other cricket facilities, it will add tremendous impetus to the sport,' he added.
