The amnesty

It has been estimated around 8.5% of the UAE's 4.1m population could leave the country via to the ongoing amnesty for illegal residents, reported ArabianBusiness.com citing immigration statistics. 185,000 workers have so far left the country, with another 165,000 expected to depart by the November 3 deadline. The amnesty has proved especially popular with the cost of living rising in the UAE and some Asian economies witnessing solid growth levels.
