Dubai announced plans to develop low-cost housing to help offset the current housing shortage and curb rent-related inflation. The move comes amid reports that project delays have deprived the market of 300,000 housing units. The emirate also pledged to finalise a three- to five-year tenancy agreement that will fix rents over the period to help the tenants cope with rising rental costs.
