Dubai Desert Classic is a yearly golf tournament that began in 1990 and is organized and promoted by the Dubai Desert Classic Executive Committee. The golf event is sanctioned by the PGA European Tour, sponsored by Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and presented in association with UAE Golf Association.
Dubai Desert Classic takes place at the Majlis Course of the Emirates Golf Club for a prize of US$ 2 Million at the beginning of March. The Emirates Golf Club was built in 1987 and was the first grass course in the Middle East. The golf course has two 7,101-yard 18-hole grass courses, one named The Majlis and the second named The Wadi. The tournament attracts high profile international players for the coveted Championship Trophy.
