A 17-year-old Saudi girl donated SR50 million (Dh49.5 million) to charity activities in the Gulf kingdom and said the sum is just around a quarter of the wealth she had inherited from her dead father, newspapers reported on Sunday.
The unknown girl went to court in the capital Riyadh and donated the sum for local charity groups involved in building mosques, helping in releasing indebted prisoners, construction of schools and hospitals and other activities.
“I was encouraged by my mother and brothers to donate for charity. I decided to donate this sum because I fear God, taking my benevolent father as an example,” the papers quoted the unidentified girl as saying
