Dubai Police's new 2-wheeler 'green' bike

As part of its eco-friendly initiatives in enhancing security in the emirate, Dubai Police has launched an electrical two-wheeler bike.

Aimed at patrolling busy areas such as market places and tourist spots the new mode of transportation will help police execute their duties better and access areas faster, reported Emarat Al Youm.

Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Muzainah, Dubai Police Chief, said the electrical bike is excellent for special security work with regards to providing cops with quick transportation, thereby, offering residents and visitors high-quality services.
These green vehicles will also reduce noise pollution apart from giving out zero petrol fumes, he added.

“By increasing the use of dependable and sustainable energy and reducing carbon emission that are harmful to the environment, Dubai Police is working towards creating an environment that is safe, clean and attractive,” said Maj Gen Muzainah.

The two-wheeled, single-person green bike is powered by an electric engine and has a maximum speed of about 20kmph. It can run for eight hours of continual use without charge.
After a period of trial run, it is expected to patrol Dubai streets.
