BlackBerry fans in the UAE who were expecting to receive their pre-booked
handsets today are a disappointed lot.
President and CEO Thorsten Heins himself had announced that the handsets will
be made available in stores from February 10.
But Axiom staff, official distributors for all BlackBerry devices, are
telling customers that the handsets they had pre-booked have not arrived yet and
will take two to three more days.
“We have been receiving so many calls since morning from customers who had
pre-booked the device by paying Dh200. But we have not received any stocks yet.
We are still not sure when we would get supplies. We are only promising the
customers to call back in a couple of days,” said one customer care
executive.
'Emirates24|7' is awaiting official comment from BlackBerry officials in the
UAE. The team is currently travelling to Kuwait for the launch of the BB10.
