Cold-snap embrace for UAE

The cold snap that has swept across Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries in the Arabian Peninsula seems ready to affect the UAE, if the forecast by the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) is anything to go by.

While Saudi Arabia forecast a 13-day cold spell, the UAE’s already cold weather is set to get a touch colder.

If you stay close to the sea you might escape the cold snap, with minimum temperatures for coastal areas forecast to hit 15 degrees C, with a maximum of 25.

However, further inland, the temperatures will drop to 9 degrees C and in the mountain areas will touch a low of 7 degrees C.

Maximum temperatures will not rise about 28 degrees C.

The NCMS forecast for today had the weather at fair to partly cloudy, and hazy at times.

Light to moderate winds especially over the sea are also on the cards.

The clouds cover is set to increase over some Northern and Eastern areas by Monday night.

On Monday, the sea is expected to be moderate to rough at times.
