Winter weather arrives in the UAE

The winter season has finally arrived in the UAE, as thunderstorms and heavy rain hit parts of the country, daily newspaper Gulf News reported on Tuesday.

Forecasters are predicting a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius at night, as the northern areas experienced wet weather since Monday.

Residents of Dibba, Fujairah and the surrounding areas reported moderate to heavy rain-showers on both Monday and Tuesday.

Elsewhere across the emirates, the weather seems to be getting cooler.

“We were expecting colder conditions this month but it was still hot in the daytime until recently,” Nerash Kumar, a resident of Al Ain, told Gulf News.

A warning has been issued by the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) about the weather over the next coming days.
