Working hours for ministry and federal government bodies in the UAE during Ramadan will be from 9 am to 2 pm, while the directory of residency and foreigners’ affairs across the emirates will be from 9 am to 6 pm, local daily Gulf News reported on Tuesday citing an official circular.
Major General Nasser Al Awadi Al Menhali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior and Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs, said that work groups have been set up to oversee fast transactions at all service counters without delay, the report said.
This is to ensure the best services for all customers as part of maintaining total quality,Al Menhali added.
The Emirates Identity Authority announced that the registration centre’s working hours during Ramadan will be from 8am to 5pm, with the exception of Umm Al Quwain, Al Dhaid and Western Region centres, which will be from 9am to 2pm.
Administrative employees in the authority will work from 9am to 2pm.
Abu Dhabi Police announced that the Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing Department will have a morning and evening shift from 8am to 6pm. The department in the Western Region will be open from 8am to 1pm.
Ramadan, the Muslim fasting month, is expected to begin on July 20 or 21 this years.
